Keeping People Safe in Surrey

Surrey Police and partners have put together a guide to assist staff in the hospitality industry with how best to respond to situations or incidents that may occur in their place of work. Our aim is to provide some helpful information to assist and support if a crime is reported or if you have suspicions that a crime is taking place.

This guide contains helpful information to identify when certain crimes may be occurring on your premises; for example human trafficking and child sexual exploitation. It is often the case that the victim themselves will not report this type of crime, and staff working in these environments may be best placed to recognise what is happening to them and take action to protect them by calling the police.

The guide is presented in such a way that it can be used as a quick reference with step by step information relevant to a range of different incidents or crime types. It is intended to be kept in an easily accessible location so that it can be referred to at all hours of the day and night. It could also be used to assist you in planning staff training days.
